Margin Lending IT Project Manager – IT COO Office

Saxo Bank IT consist of over 450 IT professionals based in Copenhagen and Delhi who, using latest technologies and agile methodologies; design, build and run the Saxo Bank award winning, global multi-asset trading platform. Our specialty is within capital markets with focus on; high reliability, large volumes, low latency and a world class, cloud-based experience for retail, institutional and white label clients.

Our in-house designed and built Saxo Bank trading system handles:

  • over 25,000 concurrent online trading clients 24 hours per day / 5,5 trading days per week
  • more than 160,000 unique monthly users to our social trading portal
  • in excess of  400,000 price feed updates per second
  • intraday execution and booking of up to 900 trades per second
  • over 1,000,000 trade transactions processed daily

THE JOB

The position is within the IT COO function and you will report to the Head of IT Programs and Projects.  We are a team of program\project managers and technical business analysts responsible for running the IT projects that span multiple functions within the IT organisation. 

You will work closely with the business development team and business owners to scope the work involved to launch a margin lending business and bring back to the IT organisation for delivery. 

As a greenfield project the position offers opportunity to influence how the team evolves to ensure we are set-up to support the new margin lending business and its product roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the business owner scope the launch project for the new margin lending business and work within the IT organization to drive the solution design, development, and testing phases of the project
  • You will be response for ensuring projects are well planned, executed and released – providing timely and accurate communication to relevant stakeholders on project scope, budget, and timelines  
  • Build an understanding of Saxo’s IT environment in order to drive a more efficient delivery, ensuring we are leveraging existing platforms as much as possible as we introduce margin lending capability
  • Identify Risks, Issues & Dependencies and proactively seek to mitigate or minimize, and if not possible, expose, escalate and communicate them in in a timely manner
  • Responsible for ensuring that a backlog of tasks is available and maintained such that project team has clarity over priorities, scope, requirements, solution breakdown and progress on allocated tasks

YOUR PROFILE

As a person you have a positive attitude, with the ability to work well under pressure and perform comfortably in fast paced environment, whilst still achieving targets.

Further we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Prior experience delivering projects in Margin Lending & Collateral Management with detailed understanding of key business processes across Credit, Risk, Compliance, Operations with respective technology flows. 
  • Previous experience of delivery on greenfield projects or new product offerings is highly desired
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services, with proven ability to work in a global organization across multiple time zones and jurisdictions with onshore\offshore teams.  At least 5 years working in a project management capacity
  • Proactive from the get go and comfortable navigating an organisation with minimal direction
  • Keen interest or experience working in agile delivery frameworks
  • Good motivator and experience in coaching teams to achieve ambitious goals
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • You possess good communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
