About the job

Group Finance in Saxo Bank is looking for a Lead Business Architect to assist in the Group’s transformational growth journey. Saxo Bank has recently decided to initiate a Future Finance program that aims to re-architect, automate, and digitalise the business processes within Group Finance. To achieve this, we will be replacing all the main systems supporting the finance organization. The Lead Business Architect is a new role in the finance organisation. As such. You have a great possibility to form the role.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Accounting you will play a key role in defining and driving the development projects in the Future Finance program. You will act as the bridge between the Finance Teams and the Development Teams.

Leaning on your deep knowledge of core finance processes and your experience in finance transformation programs you will guide and steer Finance to successfully architect and implement lean finance processes that can support the wider growth ambitions of Saxo Bank.

In executing the projects, you will be working in cross-functional agile delivery teams where with participation from Finance SME’s, Business Analyst and Solution Designers & Developers.


Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Accounting, you will amongst others responsible for:

  • Acting as thought-leader in Group Finance you will guide and steer Group Finance to implement lean processes in scalable technology solutions.
  • Collaboration with solution architects in the Finance Technology team to ensure we implement well-designed solutions support Group Finance
  • Acts as the “bridge” between the technology development teams and the Finance teams to ensure that the design and implementation of new solutions deliver on the future finance aspirations.
  • Drive the implementation of IT projects in the Future Finance program to ensure that implementation respects the priorities and guidelines provided by the  Steering Committee.
  • Provide guidance for the Business Analysts and help with analysis and specification work.


Your profile

You have great people skills and can easily understand and explain complex situations. You can build inter-company social-networks which requires excellent communication skills – connecting people with different functional and cultural backgrounds.

You have experience in many of the following areas:   

  • Product Owner, Business Architect or Business Analyst background.
  • Experience from the Financial Sector or Technology Sector or from consulting.
  • In-depth understand of accounting, performance management and financial instruments.
  • Working in the area between business and technology and are equally able to engage with developers and business analysts.
  • You can drive and advocate culture and organisational change, instilling a strong process culture.
  • Solution design in complex data environments.
  • IT infrastructure and development workflows and working in agile teams.

Group Finance within Saxo Bank

The Group Finance division is responsible for the finance functions in the value chain within Saxo Bank; Finance and Accounting, Commercial Finance, Procurement and Treasury.

Some of the key responsibilities for the division include:

  • External Statutory and Regulator Finance Reporting for the Saxo Bank Group and subsidiaries. Internal Performance Management Reporting for the Saxo Bank Group
  • Financial Controlling
  • Responsible for the Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay processes
  • Finance Business Partnering
  • Managing capital cost and regulation efficiently to generate an improved return on Equity
  • Ensuring the Bank is in compliance with regulation and implementing proper risk control at all times as well as minimizing business risk on all aspects
  • Providing solid and reliable tracking of customer activities
